What it is and how it runs.
What is a GLP-1? +
A class of medication — semaglutide and tirzepatide are the best known — that mimics a gut hormone regulating appetite and blood sugar. It reduces hunger, slows digestion, and makes smaller portions feel satisfying.
How is this delivered? +
Entirely online. You complete an eligibility check, a provider reviews you and may set up a quick virtual visit, and your medication ships to your door. Most GLP-1s are a once-weekly injection with a very small needle.
How fast can I start? +
The eligibility check takes about a minute. If a provider prescribes, most first shipments arrive within 7–10 days.
Is it brand-name Ozempic or Wegovy? +
No. We offer compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide — the same active ingredients, prepared by licensed U.S. pharmacies. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and your provider decides whether they’re appropriate for you.
Whether this is right for you.
Do I qualify? +
GLP-1 therapy is typically appropriate at a BMI of 30+, or 27+ with a weight-related condition. The eligibility check estimates your BMI and a provider makes the final call.
Who should not take a GLP-1? +
People with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, a history of pancreatitis, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding. The screening flags these before you ever pay.
Will it work if diets never have? +
For many people, yes — because the issue usually wasn’t willpower. GLP-1s change the appetite signal itself, which is why the rebound hunger that ends most diets is far weaker.
What about muscle loss? +
Any rapid weight loss can cost muscle. Adequate protein and some resistance training protect it, and your care team can guide you. It’s one reason we don’t push the fastest possible loss.
The money questions.
What does it cost? +
Semaglutide starts at $199/month and tirzepatide at $299/month, with multi-month plans lowering the monthly cost. The price includes provider, medication, shipping, and dose management.
Does insurance cover it? +
The program is cash-pay by design, which is what lets us skip prior authorizations and denials. HSA and FSA cards work in most cases.
Am I locked in? +
No. Cancel anytime from your account, with no fee. You’re only billed once a provider prescribes.
How this works behind the scenes.
Who are the providers? +
Licensed U.S. physicians and clinicians practicing through independent, physician-owned medical practices. RestoreLab is the technology and operations platform; it doesn’t practice medicine.
Where does the medication come from? +
State-licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies that prepare your prescription once a provider writes it.
How private is this? +
Fully HIPAA-protected. Shipping is discreet and unmarked, and we don’t sell your information.
What are the side effects? +
Most are gastrointestinal — nausea, constipation, reflux — and tend to ease as your body adjusts. Starting low and stepping up slowly is how your provider minimizes them. Serious risks exist, which is why a provider reviews your history first.
